Atlas (The Book of Maps) By Kay Ryan

Extreme exertion
isolates a person
from help,
Discovered Atlas.
Once a certain
shoulder-to-burden
ratio collapses,
there is so little
others can do:
they cannot
lend a hand
with Brazil
and not stand
on Peru.

Schemes

Schemes are sugar-coated pills,
They look young and yummy,
They dress up as baits
on a fishing pole,
Those who are caught
are unfortunate,
Decent fish swim in deep waters,
They are not easily fooled
by freely offered artificial treats.

Mind your Own Business Please!

People make all sorts of decisions for me,
They assume, reason, decide, conclude,
for me, they interfere without
consulting my opinions or emotions,
They believe their wisdom,
and plot my future based on their views,
Does it work?
They don't care!
Do they benefit from such?
They make blank stare,
simply enjoy seeing me in blizzard weather.
...
what's best form me?
I know it better,
Thus, no matter how great your plans are,
I will walk my road, on my own, and go far,
and sing my type of song, like a pop star.

The Cold By Lance Henson

What remains of summer
is hidden in the memories
of crows.
.
in our sleep their shadows
inherit us
we pass warm ashes
of ourselves.
.
We sit on the cold mountain
among the lonely wolves.

Haiku on Nature

google.com

we seek external
connection, it's part of life
in nature, period.
.
Love, the lasting theme,
either heals or hurts deeply,
by childish nature.
.
Look around, find comfort,
otherwise, cry for attention,
a baby's nature.
